OUR TRAILDORADO CASTLE

The Traildorado Basecamp is like a kind of mansion, as described by Bernd Nuss, former organizer of the 24-hour run at Seilersee. We also call it "the TRAILDORADO little castle."

We have chartered for you the entire "SGV-Jugendhof," an educational center of the Sauerländischer Gebirgsverein, which has its own 4ha forest and park with a large sports and play meadow (including an adventure playground). The area is located at the foot of a hill in the south of the city of Arnsberg, directly adjacent to the extensive forests of the hilly "Naturpark Arnsberger Wald."

The Arnsberg Forest is one of the largest contiguous forest areas in Germany, the most important recreational area in North Rhine-Westphalia, and ideal for extensive running, hiking, and mountain biking tours. By the way, our trail briefly touches the Ruhrhöhenweg, which leads in the highlands through the hills and forests from the source of the Ruhr to its mouth. And for those who want to take a break in between, our Basecamp offers numerous excursion possibilities and short distances to the city, Lake Möhne, various caves, etc.

The new spot is a great location for runners, lecture guests, and accompanying persons who want to enjoy a really nice short vacation.

Public Transport:
Arnsberg (Westfalen) train station, from there take the bus towards the hostel. The bus stop is only a few minutes' walk from the house.

Car:
From Dortmund:
Take A44 towards Kassel, then A445 and A46 towards Hüstener Str./B229 in Arnsberg. Take exit 65-Arnsberg-Altstadt from A46. Follow Hüstener Str./B229, then Altes Feld to Hasenwinkel.

Early arrival is recommended.

 

Parking

There are plenty of free parking spaces directly at the location and in the immediate vicinity. The parking spaces near the house are reserved for the organizers, helpers, medical staff, and journalists. Of course, we cannot promise everyone a parking space. Therefore, please carpool if possible.

The price for overnight accommodation in our event location directly on the course is only 31 EUR per person, including breakfast and bed linen (multi-bed room)! This is very affordable, extremely comfortable for a 24-hour run, and highly recommended even for the most avid runners among you! You can also book overnight stays for accompanying persons. If you are interested, please make the booking directly with SGV Jugendhof. The house is completely blocked off for us. Therefore, please call there, or include a note when making an inquiry by fax or email that you are a TRAILDORADO participant.

If the house is fully booked, for a fee of 5 EUR, a tent can be set up on the meadow next to the course. Additionally, there are numerous other accommodations available nearby. SGV will be happy to assist you with arrangements.
